Installation of a health care centre in a village
The Téranga Africa Odsams Millau-Mali association is established in France. Its primary objective is to initiate, accompany, finance or co-finance humanitarian aid projects or microprojects in support of African communities. The programmes are focused on the following core areas: education, health, gender equity, children's rights, microcredit programmes, and agriculture. The main activities are carried out to support Doctor Sister Anne-Marie Salomon's work, which consists of helping the local populations in the North of Mali, in the regions of Mopti, Tombouctou, Gao and Kidal.
The «Soutenir l'œuvre de Sœur Anne-Marie Salomon au Mali » (Supporting Sister Anne-Marie Salomon's work in Mali) includes two components:
- To supply medication to the "Hospital for Nomads" in Gossi
- To establish a fully functioning healthcare centre in Almalitane
The construction of the healthcare centre was completed and consists of a dispensary, a short-term residence and a residence for the centre manager.
The Addax Foundation supports the Téranga Africa Odsams Millau-Mali association by financing the completion of th following construction work, which will allow the centre to be fully functional:
- application of anti-termite wall covering in the buildings;
- installation of running water in all 3 buildings;
- installation of solar electricity in all 3 buildings;
- construction of 2 toilets;
- acquisition of equipment for the dispensary: solar refrigerator, cupboards, tables and chairs.
